Laurie Marshall
Artist
I?m really not sure why I paint. Maybe it?s just a habit I?ve got into. I used to draw a lot, I?m not sure why I did that either and somehow that led to painting and I?m still at it.There?s not much else I?m good at and I?m not yet capable of doing nothing all day. I like a lot of things in this world, not just now but all I can remember, and to pour it all into a painting in my own unique way gives me a good feeling. I like squeezing paint out of tubes and playing with it and since the government gives me enough money to live on I have the free time to do that. Painting helps me connect with people ? I get to hang out with painters, sculptors, musicians, all their friends and relations and all the others in the same boat. I somehow feel more connected to the whole world when I?m painting.
